Redskins’ Pete Robertson begins NFL career with Thanksgiving gaffe

That’s not what you want to do in your NFL debut, Pete Robertson.

The Redskins rookie linebacker, who was promoted from the practice squad this week, cost his squad a ton of yards and, worse, made himself the butt of Twitter jokes when he failed to properly down a punt Thursday night against the Giants.

Robertson fielded Tress Way’s kick at the Giants’ 7 and then jogged into the end zone, turning an inspiring special teams play into a distressing touchback.
