Saxophone anthems are the best.

The national anthem should always be played on a saxophone. Michael Phillips’ performance of the anthem before Vikings vs. Lions proves it.

Phillips performed the anthem, and it was flawless.

Phillips played the national anthem on his sax before the divisional round matchup between the Seahawks and the Falcons after the 2016 season. He did it again before the NFC Championship between the Packers and Falcons last year, and drew similar rave reviews both times.

Last year fans were treated to a gorgeous rendition of the anthem courtesy of Aretha Franklin. But people got a little mad online about the length of it.

Nobody was complaining this year, because Phillips’ sax version was perfect.
